Routine Cleaning?!/! "What! You have to clean it"???

"How do you clean your grill". Our answer is probably differently than 90% of Grill owners. Here are some helpful tips.

One common mistake is to take your food off , shut the grill down and eat. Sound Familiar? Yes, well this is the deadliest and most common mistake you can do to destroy any grill. Even the expensive ones! The acidic food and grease is munching away at your grill internals. Put it this way. Lets say you bought a nice Weber Genesis Grill with Porcelain Coated Cast Iron Grates. On goes the burgers and wings! Shut the grill hood, turn it off and lets eat. Fast forward two months later. "Lets Grill tonight!" What do you think those grates would look like?

The trick is to burn off and clean the grates after the food has been taken off. This is a lot simpler than you think. You do it to your oven in your house every so often. The self cleaning setting gets to high temperatures and burns off the debris. You can do the same to your grill.

Turn all the burners to high and let it heat up. When the smoke clears, brush off the grates with a quality grill brush and you are done. Next time you grill, do a quick sweep with your brush and i like to use a wet rag or paper towel and wipe of the grates before i turn it on. Before the food goes on use oil or grill spray so your food doesn't stick. Oh, and if you always do this and it still sticks, it is because the grill is not hot enough! Happy Grilling.
